The Methley produces heavy, annual crops of juicy, sweet plums.
This plum tree is self fertile.
It is Hardy in Zones 5–9.
Mine are grown in full sun and are about 10 years old.
I bake with these plums, can preserved jellies, freeze whole plums in bags for holidays and much more.
Plant in a well-drained soil, loamy, mildly acidic to mildly acidic.
Produces ripe plums from May to June depending on your zone location.
Methley Plum Trees grow about 8-20 feet to 10-20 feet wide.
They can be pruned back to any shape you desire. Mine are thinned on the bottom and fullness in middle to top. The limbs will get very heavy from all the plums. I would advise trimming lower limbs at times so they do touch the ground.

Prepare the seeds for planting : Put the seed it in a zip-lock bag with some compost or peat moss.
Place the bag in the refrigerator and maintain the pit’s temperature at around 40 for 6 to 10 weeks. When it cracks and sprouts, remove it from the refrigerator.
Prepare the soil for planting by combining 2 parts soil with 1 part compost.
Plant 4 inches deep in your desired location.
