The Golden Bamboo Plant is a large growing bamboo plant, able to reach heights between 16 to 40 feet, and around 1 to 6 inches in
diameter.
The canes, as with all other bamboo, are hollow with solid joints.
Golden Bamboo is an invasive species, so it requires an underground plastic barrier to restrict its growth to the areas you desire, however when fully established, the plant can add a beautiful, unique touch to your landscape.
It can be grown in pots as well. Bamboo (Bambusa) a versatile plant.
Do not plant in continuous water build up sites it will rot.
Once you have chosen a place to start your bamboo growing, Dig a hole that is twice as wide as the running shoot Rhizomes. Set the bamboo in the hole and spread the roots out some in the hole. Gently backfill the hole, packing down the soil. If you do not want the Bamboo running all over your yard.
The barrier should go down at least 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm.) underground, if not more, and be 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm.) above ground. The barrier should surround the bamboo completely. I have my bamboo surrounded with a concrete barrier due to respect of my neighbors.
I have paths maintained for walking throughout my garden. This bamboo
also can be trimmed like hedges.
