My Thorny Olives are about 25 years old.
These will come off of my well established organic shrubs.
Native to Japan, Asia and China.
They were introduced in 1830 in Asia.
It is a rapid growing shrub.
This stub grows 3 to 4 feet each growing season.
It will reach 12-18 feet tall.
The width can get up to at least 14 feet wide. Again, Keep it trimmed to your desired width.
They make great back drops in a garden.
Privacy shrubs and landscaping accent.
Leaves are about 3 1/2 inches long and are oblong.
The blooms produce a lemon and ginger smell.
It’s an added senses to your garden !
It will produce large quantities of edible drupes every year for wildlife.
It does produce thorns.
I trim tip the larger thorns on some that I am movable in my gardens for harvesting and maintaining.
They are easily trimmed for a desirable look:
I prefer the sectioned ball stack look.
Whatever look just trim them the way you like.
Zones ; 6-10
They can tolerate to -10.
Dip the cutting end after a sterile recut into a rooting hormone.
Plant into a well-draining, moist potting mix. (sand and perlite in mix)
Keep it watered. ( Moist at all times )
It takes 6-8 weeks for rooting to start.

How are Seeds Shipped ?
All very small seeds are processed using a normal stamp process for letters. Larger small seed orders will be shipped with a non-Machinable stamp. MULTI seed orders are shipped in a larger First-Class envelope with a printed USPS Etsy tracking label.
